Salu Jose is an accomplished academic professional with over 20 years of dedicated service in the field of Mental Health Nursing Education. Since 2005, she has been serving as a Senior Tutor in the Post Graduate Mental Health Program at the Higher Institute of Health Specialities (HIHS), Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman. Her academic and clinical foundations were laid at premier health institutions, including St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences and National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore, Karnataka.

Specialized in Psychiatric and Mental Health Education, Ms.Jose brings a rich blend of clinical expertise, academic leadership and curriculum innovations to her current role. She is certified in Basic Counselling, School Counselling, Mindfulness Practices and Neurolingustic Programing (NLP), underscoring her commitment to holistic and evidence based mental health education.

Her academic leadership is reflected in the key roles she had held over the years. She served as the Academic Coordinator for the Post Graduate Mental Health Nursing Program at HIHS for 5 years and chaired the Examination and Assessment Board for six years. Internationally, she contributed as an Honorary Tutor for 4 years at Cardiff University,UK, supporting the affiliated Top-Up BSC Nursing Program in the Ministry of Health.

Ms.Jose has been instrumental in several strategic and quality initiatives at HIHS,she had led the development of Faculty Handbook and Student Handbook and has been an active member of core institutional committees like Strategic planning committee, Curriculum Development Committee, Quality Assurance committee and Alumni Focal Group.

With a strong passion for advancing mental health education, Salu Jose continues to contribute to academic excellence, program development, and student mentorship in Oman and beyond.
